Solar Panels in Vision Park: Green Energy and Sustainability in Focus

Did you know that our warehouse in Vision Park has already generated an impressive 1,431 MWh (1,431,000 kWh) of solar energy since May 2024? With an expected annual production of 2,100 MWh (2,100,000 kWh) - equivalent to the yearly electricity consumption of 467 households - we are making significant strides toward producing as much energy as we consume. This places us among the leading companies utilizing warehouse rooftops for solar energy production.
Our solar panels supply power directly to warehouse operations, including trucks, cranes, ventilation systems, and lighting. Additionally, they charge our company vehicles, which will be 100% electric by 2028. We also plan to install 2,400 m² of solar panels on our upcoming showroom, which will generate an additional 500,000 kWh per year. Once the administration building and showroom are completed in May 2026, the energy production of Schou Group from 15,000 m² of solar panels will be equivalent to their energy consumption - an important milestone in our sustainability journey.
Schou employees can continuously monitor the daily green energy production on our information screens.
Our DGNB Gold-certified warehouse meets very high standards in sustainability, green energy, and social responsibility, serving as a role model for energy-efficient operations. The upcoming administration building, which has already received a DGNB pre-Gold certification, will also be awarded a DGNB Heart - a recognition given to buildings that make an extraordinary effort to promote health and well-being.
